Bittersweet weekend for the boys of Cus Siena Judo engaged in Ostia for the Under 18 finals. Tobia Grazzini in -50 kg had to defend the bronze won in the last edition, but he went out in the first match and was not recovered. Giulio Muzzi, who became Italian vice-champion in June, instead passed the first two rounds, but in the third he found Esposito from Campania, who at first suffered his holds and his good judo, but then surprised him in the its only attack. The cussino was recovered and faced a new meeting with Quercio. He started well and went straight to the point, but then failed to finish on the ground; Muzzi in a hurry to conclude he discovered and Quercio took advantage of it: the Sienese must have more confidence because even in the new category, -55kg, he can have his say. On the last day of the cadet finals (-52kg) Cus had to give up Claudia Cepparulo due to a bad knee injury.

Giulia Nocciolini got down on the mat with determination and won the first two matches, then she was stopped in the semifinals by the Sicilian Giulia Carna; the Sienese athlete nevertheless reached the final for the bronze with Ottavia Napoleone from Chieti. She went ahead of wazari, in a tense match for the stakes due to the risk of frustrating the sacrifices made (the third was disqualified). Giulia managed the meeting with not a few sufferings for Maestro Cresti, but in the end she won the bronze and consequently the black belt she had been chasing for some time. A great satisfaction for the Cus family: now there are three black belts in 2021, all born from constant work and the great commitment of the boys in a difficult moment, both for the general situation, but also for the lack of the teacher Nibbi.
