KOMPAS.com – Kotningen West Java is still firmly at the top of the medal standings for the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON) 2021 on Saturday (9/10/2021) night WIB.
Meanwhile, West Java has won 214 medals with details of 77 gold, 65 silver and 72 bronze.
West Java itself became the first contingent to achieve 200 medals at the XX Papua PON.
East Java overshadowed West Java in second place in the medal standings of the XX Papua PON.
They collected 181 medals with details of 68 gold, 61 silver and 52 bronze.

DKI Jakarta which is in third place also has a score of 68 gold. However, the capital contingent lost the silver medal (61 to 54).

The fourth position is still occupied by the host Papua with 150 medals.
Meanwhile, changes also occurred in the top 10 after Banten displaced South Sulawesi.

Banten penetrated the top 10 by winning 36 medals including seven gold, nine silver and 20 bronze.
South Sulawesi, which fell in 11th place, actually had the same gold acquisition as Banten.
However, South Sulawesi only won seven silvers and eight bronzes, so they lost ahead of Banten who entered the top 10.
The contingents themselves still have the opportunity to add to their medal coffers considering that the 2021 Papua PON matches will last until October 15, 2021.
