“It was disgusting”: shaken, Zion released a big declaration

Zion Williamson is a very ambitious player, but the Pelicans’ results hardly give him satisfaction at the moment. Enough to make him frustrated to say the least… His last outing was certainly not enough to reassure Bayou fans.

On an individual level, it is difficult to blame anything Zion Williamson for the 2020-21 season. The interior of New Orleans has hit the opposing defenses night after night, accumulating no less than 27 points per game with 61% success in shooting. Add to that 7 rebounds and almost 4 assists, and you have a statistic line to say the least.

Zion’s disgusted exit on the Pelicans’ results

However, despite all these high-sounding figures, NOLA did not do better than a pitiful 11ᵉ place in the West, the race for the playoffs being over long before the end of the regular season for the Bayou men. Logically, things did not go well with the Monstar… Passing through SiriusXM recently, he didn’t hide the fact that it had really pissed him off:

It was a disgusting feeling, it was sickening. We weren’t in the playoffs – and when I watch the playoffs, I think we can do it. I know we can do it this year. Man, something got a hold of me and I was like, yeah, that won’t happen again. It will never happen again.

We can understand his frustration, given that the expectations around him are simply immense. Unfortunately, the collective results are clearly not yet there. Over the last two campaigns, the Pels have won respectively 30 and 31 games… Not really enough to scare the competition.

The big concern is that the offseason has not seen a clear improvement in the workforce. Lonzo Ball left, Jonas Valanciunas and Devonte ‘Graham arrived, while Eric Bledsoe and Steven Adams stormed past. That’s all, and we can not say that there is something to be reassured for the future of this group.

Under these circumstances, it is therefore not surprising that the rumors surrounding the young man’s departure remain persistent. His status as a mega-star in the making practically promises it to a big market, and a renowned franchise could also make a move for him. Two after the departure ofAnthony Davis for the lakers, New Orleans fans are closer than ever to a new disillusionment …

We can’t help but hear a message to NOLA executives with this release from Zion. If the franchise fails to reach the playoffs in 2021-22, we may no longer see the young prodigy in Louisiana …
