Since Jon Gruden has gone it is known that it will never be part of Las Vegas Raiders. The interim coach, Rich Bisaccia, will take control of the team. While he may have a chance to keep the position, there is no doubt that team management will start thinking about candidates very soon. The Raiders have a strong roster and the coaching role could be one of the most tempting for potential candidates.
However, the team has not always played it safe. Eric Bieniemy y Brian Daboll, two respected offensive coordinators, will be two candidates who will be tied to the Raiders, but it is possible that the team will make a surprise decision. According SportsBetting.agSome of the unlikely options for the job are quarterback and Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, defensive back and Hall of Famer Charles Woodson, and all-time Raiders points leader Sebastian Janikowski.
WILD names on the odds list for next #Raiders HC, via @SportsBettingAG
Peyton Manning +5000
Urban Meyer +5000
Howie Long +7500
Charles Woodson +10000
Lane Kiffin +10000
Tony Romo +15000
Sebastian Janikowski +50,000— Ryan Ward (@RyanWardNFL) October 12, 2021
Of course none of them will be hired. It’s virtually impossible to think that Mark Davis will rehire Lane Kiffin. However, there is at least one name on that list that is interesting.
Manning could be an intriguing coach
In the entire history of the sport, superstars have not had much success as coaches. There have been many former players who have been successful coaches, but not many were superstars of the sport. The former coach of the Chicago BearsMike Ditka is the only member of the NFL to have had a Hall of Fame career both as a player and as a coach.
However, Manning could still be an interesting candidate as a coach. Although he was always very talented as one of the best quarterbacks in the league, he was also constantly praised for his intelligence. No matter where he played or who his coach was, his offenses always thrived. He certainly has a great head for this sport. He could get a job as an offensive coach if he wanted to, but maybe he’s waiting to be offered a coaching position. You could also be satisfied just shooting commercials and hosting the show. Manningcast, from ESPN, for Monday Night Football games. Anyway, it will not be a surprise if in the future you decide to work as a coach in the near future.
Don’t discount Bisaccia
Raiders fans are sure to speculate who the next coach will be. However, it is still premature to rule out Bisaccia. The Raiders have replaced coaches in the middle of a season five times before in their entire history. Only Red Conright and Tony Sparano did not follow through the following season, according to ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez.
Rich Bisaccia is the 6th coach in #Raiders history to take over during a season, joining Marty Feldman (1961), Red Conkright (1962), Art Shell (1989), Tom Cable (2008) and Tony Sparano (2014). All but Conkright and Sparano came back the following season as head coach.

Bisaccia has never been a head coach and it’s not common to hire a special teams coach to lead a team, but he is highly respected in the league. At his first press conference as the Raiders head coach, he couldn’t hold back his tears of excitement at finally being given the opportunity.
“My father was the coach of the New York Giants – but he never told anyone.” said Bisaccia. “I have five sisters, four children and five grandchildren. So, to get a chance to be the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, wow! I think that is the only thing that will excite me in life.
Former Raiders linebacker, Will Compton, mentioned the great relationship the players have with Bisaccia.
I wasn’t on this team long —but long enough to know he was the best leader of players I’ve been around. No one in that building has more player-respect than Coach Bisaccia

If he can guide the Raiders to the postseason, then he has a good chance of winning the job next year.
