In Madrid, Monaco spoils its fantastic comeback in the money-time

Before the meeting, Zvezdan Mitrovic wanted to know if his team was able to face a big cylinder EuroLeague like Real Madrid. Clearly not ready to start against the Spanish firepower, AS Monaco then thwarted their opponent, to the point of recovering a deficit of 25 points (44-19, 16th) in 20 minutes (81 everywhere, 37th) . However, Roca Team ended the game badly and lost 94-86.

AS Monaco not in the game at the start of the meeting

On the wings of the French duo Thomas Heurtel (13 points at 5/9 on shots, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 fouls provoked for 15 evaluation in 22 minutes) – Guerschon Yabusele (18 points at 4/5, 3 rebounds and 7 faults caused for 25 evaluation in 29 minutes), Real Madrid quickly made the gap against Monaco. Head underwater, the principality’s players, too little intense and concerned, turned to -18 at the end of the first quarter (30-12) then -25 after 15 minutes of play (44-19) . But undoubtedly released in a match which then seemed unmanageable, they recovered in the last period of the first half. Above all, Donta Hall (12 points at 6/8 and 7 rebounds for 17 evaluation in 19 minutes) rocked his entire team with high-level actions. To conclude the first half, he planted a dunk allowing his people to return to the locker room with only 12 points behind (51-39).

Mike James does Mike James

After the break, the former pivot of the Orlando Magic (NBA) continued his work. He was helped by the leader Mike James, author of a real show (24 points at 7/14, 10 assists and 6 fouls caused for 34 evaluation in 32 minutes). The super-scorer flaunted his talent with plenty of big shots, including one from midfield (while playing the foul), and lobed passes for Hall. Little by little, Zvezdan Mitrovic’s team got closer. When Will Thomas got started, the Monegasques ended up equalizing (81 then 83 everywhere). But Mike James, so inspired before, accumulated errors and Real Madrid escaped with three free throws from Guerschon Yabusele and then an award-winning shot from Rudy Fernandy (89-84) with 1 minute remaining. Thomas Heurtel put an end to the suspense with a floatter and Real Madrid validated their second success of the season, returning to the level of the losers of the day (2 wins, 1 loss).
