Friday, October 1, 2021, was held the general assembly of Entente Sportive Falaisiene archery section in the presence of Fabrice Gracia, deputy mayor for sports, chaired by Jean-Charles Bellot. The latter did not fail to underline the particular aspect of this general assembly presented for two seasons, following the Covid-19.

He gave many thanks, especially “to the volunteers who work all year to keep the club running”.

The number of licensees has increased from 73 for the 2019-2020 season to 54 in 2020-2021. That is a drop of 27%, “but I have a lot of hopes for this new season,” said the president. For him, the current figure of 30 dismissed will gradually rise to 70 over the coming weeks.

At the sporting level, no competition in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, a 4th place for Yann among the youngest, Alexis and Antoine respectively 3rd and 54th among the youngsters, and Robin 5th among the cadets.

Marie-Laure has won the title of champion of Calvados. Likewise, she won again as a team with Marie-Noëlle during the Trophée des roses.

During the Association Forum, many young people aged 5 to 7 presented themselves “but we only take them from the age of 8 now,” said secretary Marie-Laure Dupont.

“The idea of creating baby archery was launched, with bows and arrows with suction cups for children to learn the technique. Around, there could be games of precision, style turns everything upside down ”.

“Broken” license prices

Another decision of the office. After a very healthy presentation of the financial accounts, it was decreed to “break” the prices of licenses for this re-entry “to recover our licensees”.

They go from € 76 to € 48 from 8 years old, from € 86 to € 55 in the categories of youngsters to juniors, and from € 96 to € 60 for adults.

But the club’s major project will be to give the venue a name and to pay tribute to one of its competitors. At the end of November 2021, she will therefore take the name of Jimmy Sobol, archer who died last February at the age of 27.

This one had several times classified at the level of Calvados and Normandy, with titles of vice-champion of France, and twice champion of France in 2006 and 2011.
