With the 81:75 (36:31) victory on Friday evening against the MLP Academics Heidelberg, who had previously placed second, the team of coach Pedro Calles made a big leap in the table. In front of 2462 fans in the Inselparkhalle, the Hamburgers achieved their fourth win in a row. “The key to victory was our run in the fourth quarter, which put us in the lead on eleven points,” said coach Calles, but admitted: “Unfortunately, we weren’t able to finish the game in the best possible way.”

However, he warned: “Despite the four wins in a row, we are not allowed to take off. We have to take every opponent just as seriously and keep pushing ourselves to improve.”
