Gómez already adds on the blue and white wall

Although he was born in Leganés, his parents’ friendship with Antonio Amaya, Rayo Vallecano defender, led Gómez to start football at the Vallecas club, when he was 4 years old.. There he continued until the juvenile category, in which he went to Atlético de Madrid, where he played until the second year of youth. Last season he completed his stage in the lower categories at Valladolid, from which he arrived at Avilés.

“I had more offers, even from abroad, but I did not accept because I had to leave Valladolid”, explains Gómez, who found in Avilés the ideal way out for this new stage: “I preferred a loan and Valladolid also wanted me to go to a First or Second RFEF team so that I would play regularly and get tanned ”. Goal accomplished, despite the fact that he had to win the title: “I arrived last and had to work to make up lost ground with other teammates who had been training for a month and a half. Now I can say that I am very happy with everything, with the training sessions, the teammates and the city. I have adapted very quickly “.

Gómez’s entry into the team coincided with Chiqui de Paz’s decision to play with three center-backs: “I had played a few times with that system, but I’m very comfortable. They score few goals for us and that is the credit of the whole team ”. As usually happens in the subsidiaries, Gómez is used to getting the ball played, but he clarifies: “In quarry teams it is easier because the failures are not so important. Chiqui asks us to do them as much as possible, but to be forceful when the occasion requires it ”.

Despite the team’s good start, Gomez doesn’t make long-term plans. Yes, it has been reported on the situation of the club: “They have told me that since the arrival of the new president things have changed and I know that the objective is to reach, at least, the Second Division. That is why our obligation is to look up ”.

A project that, he emphasizes, will have support: “It seems that we are re-engaging the public. With good results and a good game, I hope that more and more people will come to the field “. Personally, the objective is clear: “I want to have minutes, gain experience, be stronger every day and, in the long term, reach the First Division.”
