Arrived only a short time ago, DeAndre Jordan did not make a big impression for his first game under the colors of the Lakers. Instead, the interior must have suffered a lot of mockery … A Hall of Famer even brutally humiliated him during the meeting!
The Lakers already had Dwight Howard and Anthony Davis in the racket, but they wanted at all costs to recover one last big man. It is therefore DeAndre Jordan who landed during the month of September, shortly after being released by Brooklyn. The veteran pivot, initially expected on the bench ended up overtaking everyone and was even announced as the holder in position 5. We were therefore impatiently awaiting his first steps in competition.
Unfortunately for him, we cannot say that his debut for the Pourpres et Ors was a real success. Not only did Los Angeles lose heavily to the Warriors (114-121, summary here), but the former Clipper was almost transparent during the minutes he spent on the floors. In total DJ recorded only 2 points, 2 rebounds and barely a shot attempted. Suffice to say that he had everything of a ghost …
Barkley trolls DeAndre Jordan on his free throw address
Of course, he’s not the custodian of the Lakers’ game, but that’s not encouraging all the same. Result, the interior was logically trolled, including among the observers of the league. Charles Barkley was particularly distinguished by a big punchline on Jordan, during the meeting. This one had claimed a fault which then amused the Hall of Famer a lot:

It is true that with a pitiful 47.5% success on the career line, the No. 10 was anything but guaranteed to add points to the box score. DeAndre has long been taunted for his awkwardness in throwing, especially since Hack-a-Jordan has been very popular for almost a decade now. However, he has shown progress for a few seasons, not having fallen below the 50% mark since 2017. Not enough to make him a sniper, that said …
However, this is not what Frank Vogel and his staff expect from him in the coming months anyway. The player’s mission is simple: play goalkeepers in defense, and rush towards the circle whenever he has the chance. After all, we are talking about the most prolific dunker in NBA history, so it would be foolish not to put his strengths to use. We can therefore expect him to gain strength quickly, especially alongside a passer like LeBron James.
It’s a fact, DeAndre Jordan didn’t make a successful debut for the Lakers. Hopefully the rest of the regular season goes better for him, otherwise he could quickly lose his starting spot.
