French team: “It would be a dream”, Téji Savanier sends a (small) message to Didier Deschamps

Become captain of the MHSC since the departure of Andy Delort, Téji Savanier impresses every weekend on the Ligue 1 grounds. Author of three goals and four assists in ten league games, the midfielder no longer hides his France team dreams. In an interview with RMC, the Montpellier playmaker mentioned it directly. But without necessarily having illusions.

“Do I believe in my chances of being selected? No, there are some very good players in the team. It would be a dream to be called. It stays in the back of my head. I don’t really like to talk about that, I prefer to live the present moment to the full, ”explained the former Nîmes player.

“It’s not an obsession”

For now, the Montpellier prefers to focus on his club performance before thinking about the selection: “There are players who play in big European clubs, they play in the Champions League or the Europa League. It’s easier for them. I focus on my club. If it’s ever to happen, it will. But it’s not an obsession in my head, otherwise I’m going to hit the wall. I think of others first. I prefer to devote myself to my team. I have to be good with my club ”.

Téji Savanier had this summer at the Games a frustrating experience with the French Olympic team. Didier Deschamps announces this Thursday his list to face Kazakhstan (November 13 at the Parc des Princes) and Finland (November 16 in Helsinki), as part of the qualifications for the 2022 World Cup.
