Denayer gives Lyon the win against Monaco

Olympique Lyon and Jason Denayer have won a 2-0 win against AS Monaco on the tenth day of Ligue 1. Denayer scored the second goal in the final minute of regular time and played the entire match. At the Monegasken, U23 international Eliot Matazo stood 82 minutes between the lines.

Lyon had to toil for a long time in its own stadium, but was helped fifteen minutes before the end by a foul in the sixteen of defender Axel Disasi. Karl Toko Ekambi accepted the gift and converted the penalty, 1-0. Denayer put his foot in the final phase against a cross from Emerson for the 2-0. In the standings, Lyon (16 points) over Monaco (14 points) climbs to fifth place.

Adnan Januzaj played with Real Sociedad for 66 minutes in the 1-0 win against Mallorca on the ninth match day of La Liga. Julen Lobete, Januzaj’s replacement, scored the only goal of the match in the final minute. With the win, Sociedad climbs to the top spot in La Liga, with twenty points, three more than Real and Atlético Madrid. Both teams will be out of action this weekend due to the late return of their South American internationals, a favor of La Liga.

In the Netherlands, PSV won 3-1 against PEC Zwolle for its own people. The visitors, the red lantern in the Eredivisie, took the lead via Redan (3.), but went down at the end of the match. Ramalho (84.), Gakpo (86.) and Boscagli (89.) scored in the final minutes. Yorbe Vertessen came in for PSV after an hour. He provided the assist on Gakpo’s goal. PSV (21 pts) is again one point behind leader Ajax, which won 0-2 at Heerenveen earlier in the day, thanks to the victory in the standings.

Milan and Saelemaekers bend backlog

AC Milan, with Alexis Saelemaekers in the base, turned a 0-2 deficit against Hellas Verona into a 3-2 win on the eighth match day of the Serie A. Saelemaekers, who extended his contract with the Rossoneri on Friday until mid-2026, was replaced at halftime.

At that time, the visitors at San Siro had a double lead thanks to goals from Caprari (7.) and Barak (24.). After the break, Milan came under steam and thanks to hits from Giroud (59.) and Kessie (76.) and an own goal from Gunter (78.), the three points remained in Milan.

In the standings, Milan is currently in the lead, with 22 points. Napoli (21 pts) will come into action on Sunday and can then jump over the Milanese again.
