The 2021-2022 season, the sixth season of the FIBA Basketball Champions League (BCL), the rising value of European basketball, started on Monday (October 4) with the struggles in eight groups consisting of four teams. Five Turkish representatives compete in the BCL, where the first week ended with 16 matches, and Turkey is the country with the highest number of representatives in the organization with this number.
Pınar Karşıyaka laughed once again with Bonzie Colson
Finishing the season in second place in BCL, Pınar Karşıyaka won her first match in Group B, 84-86 away from Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem. Bonzie Colson, the MVP of the 2020-21 BCL season, shone with 22 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks in the Turkish Basketball Super League (TBSL) game last week, where she scored 41 points against Bahçeşehir College. Not only did he score the winning three-pointer in Israel, Colson scored eight points in the final section, where Karşıyaka was trailing five points.
Anthony Bennett, who played in Fenerbahçe and played in Fenerbahçe, opened the season with 22 points and 8 rebounds with Hapoel Jerusalem, which is considered to be one of the most flawed draft choices in the history of the NBA.

Scoring 92 points, Tofaş got an impressive win.
In Group F, Tofaş defeated Belgian representative Filou Oostende 92-83 at home. Scoring 32 baskets with a 52% on-court percentage and 25 assists, Tofaş showed the spectators in the stands and watching the match on television a good basketball. Bursa representative Tomislav Zubcic stood out with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists.
Melo Trimble performed in Galatasaray
Galatasaray NEF, which has a much better team compared to last season with the moves it made in the summer of 2021, started Group E with an impressive victory by defeating Czech representative ERA Nymburk 101-85. Thus, Galatasaray reached triple-digit scores for the second time in a row, after the Darüşşafaka match in TBSL at Sinan Erdem Sports Hall, which went into two overtimes.
Melo Trimble and DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell both scored 56 points in Galatasaray NEF under the management of Ekrem Memnun. Melo Trimble scored eight three-pointers with 80% accuracy, and recorded five three-pointers in the final quarter.

Beşiktaş Icrypex lost to the last championship
In the opening match of the 2021-2022 season, Beşiktaş Icrypex, the new team of BCL, who was a guest of the last champion Hereda San Pablo Burgos, left the field 82-74. The Spanish representative, who won the cup for two consecutive tournaments in the BCL, which has been played for five seasons, won the match in which Beşiktaş played a good basketball with his experience.
Vitor Benite, captain of the Burgos team and MVP of the 2020-2021 BCL Finals, put his weight on the game at the end of the match and finished the game with 27 points, five three-pointers and 4 assists. Newly transferred Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, who joined Beşiktaş Icrypex with great expectations, gave hope for the future with 15 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks in the second game.
Darüşşafaka defeated U-BT Cluj Napoca away
Darüşşafaka, who was a guest of U-BT Cluj Napoca in their first match in Group G, was defeated 66-60. Darüşşafaka, who made 20 turnovers in total in the match, had difficulty in finding rhythm in offense and had 60 points.
Nathan Boothe was the only player in the team to reach double digits with 14 points, while Romania’s representative Elijah Stewart and Patrick Richard scored a total of 35 points.
