The third week of the FIBA Basketball Champions League (BCL) 2021-2022 season ended with seven games played on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, October 18-20. Beşiktaş Icrypex got its first win in the week when only one of our representatives took the floor. Darüşşafaka’s Hapoel U-Net Holon match was postponed due to the coronavirus cases seen in the team.
In the statement released by Darüşşafaka, it was announced that cases were found in routine coronavirus tests and therefore the Hapoel Holon and Büyükçekmece matches to be played at the weekend in the ING Basketball Super League were postponed. The Hapoel U-Net Holon match will be held on December 7, by the decision of the Basketball Champions League.
Critical win from Beşiktaş Icrypex
Beşiktaş Icrypex, in Group H of BCL, defeated EWE Baskets Oldenburg 81-83 on the road and won a valuable victory. Our representative, who closed the first half behind 52-42, allowed the German representative only 29 points in the second half. NBA patented Rondae Hollis-Jefferson has had his best game since the day he was transferred. Hollis-Jefferson, who contributed 21 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 2 blocks in all areas of the field, gave a message about the rest of the season.
In Group H, Rytas Vilnius surprisingly defeated the champion of the last two years, San Pablo Burgos, 87-69 by keeping team leader Vitor Benite 6 points and making 20 turnovers to his opponent. Thus, after two matches in Group H, each team has one win.

Eight matches will be played in the fourth week of the Basketball Champions League. While Galatasaray NEF opens the week away from PAOK on Monday, October 25th at 19.30, Pınar Karşıyaka will host BAXI Manresa on Tuesday, October 26th at 19.00. On Tuesday, our third representative Tofaş will go to the tough SIG Strasbourg away game at 21.30.
2021-2022 season kicks off at 7DAYS EuroCup
The 2021-2022 season at 7DAYS EuroCup started with five matches played on Tuesday, October 19 and Wednesday, October 20. In EuroCup, there are groups A and B consisting of 10 teams each.
Our representative in Group A, Türk Telekom defeated the French team Boulogne Metropolitans 92 73-65 in Ankara. Having two wins and two losses in the ING Basketball Super League, Türk Telekom opened the European book by winning. Alex Perez added 13 assists to the 18 points and became the team’s offensive carrier.

Frutti Extra Bursaspor lost 83-101 at home to Virtus Segafredo Bologna, one of the two favorites of the cup. The students of Sergio Scariolo, who lacked important names such as Parkeye Milos Teodosic, Ekpe Udoh, Mam Jaiteh, Awadu Abass, Nico Mannion, are at a level well above EuroCup together with Partizan, despite the shortcomings. Kevin Hervey and Marco Bellinelli were prominent names in Virtus Bologna, while seven names went up to double digits. Allerik Freeman was the team’s top scorer in Bursaspor with 15 points, while three local players Onuralp Bitim, Egemen Güven and Ömer Utku Al contributed 37 points.
