Fan slips: timid fines for Standard and Anderlecht

Standard was sued by the Belgian Union Prosecutor’s Office for the bad behavior of its supporters during the derby on the Seraing pitch in mid-September (0-1). Shortly after the kick-off, but also after the final whistle, Rouches supporters lit smoke bombs. These caused a lot of smoke, especially after the end of the game, but the course of the match was not disrupted.

The fine for RSC Anderlecht is linked to the use of pyrotechnics during the September 12 match at Lotto Park, against Mechelen (7-2). The Brussels fans lit smoke bombs which plunged the stadium into a cloud of smoke. Kick-off had to be delayed a minute and a half due to reduced visibility.

“The use of pyrotechnic material has no place on a football field, because it is liable to disrupt the progress of a match and, in addition, to damage the physical integrity of other supporters, players, referees and other members of the football family “, ruled the Disciplinary Committee.
