BOLASPORT.COM – Liverpool’s success in reaching the quarter-finals of the English League Cup was not accompanied by Manchester City because they had to fall at the hands of West Ham United.

Liverpool and Manchester City are the two elite Premier League teams that will play in the continuation of the 2021-2022 English League Cup or Carabao Cup on Wednesday (27/10/2021) or Thursday morning WIB.

In the last 16 of the English League Cup, Liverpool and Manchester City were drawn to face different caste opponents in away matches.

Liverpool met a team from the Championship Division, Preston North End, while Manchester City faced fellow Premier League team, West Ham United.

Even though they both played away games in the round of 16, the two teams actually achieved different results.

Playing at Deepvale Stadium, Liverpool struggled to tame Preston North End.

Down with his second tier, Juergen Klopp’s side were held to a 0-0 draw by Preston in the first half.

Playing a front-line trio filled with Takumi Minamino, Divock Origi, and Harvey Blair, the Reds were only able to break the deadlock in the 62nd minute.
