Do you have to keep fighting in judo on the ground? (Martial arts)

Hello, I have a few questions about judo and / or hapkido. First of all I would like to say that I am a person who would love to fight with swords, other blows and stabbing weapons as well as without weapons and I have never had the opportunity to do so in my life. About a year ago I started Taekwondo, I was extremely disappointed because I hoped that we would learn to fight there. We have never fought against each other since I already have the yellow belt. I don’t enjoy it or do anything.

Now I would have the opportunity to start with Hapkido or Judo (although that is unfavorable because the next possibility is 40km away)

How is judo or hapkido? I know both by name but don’t know what you learn there.

Do you fight against each other? (I mean until someone is on the ground and does not take turns kicks in the air does not touch and that then calls fighting like with TKD)

Is what you learn there useful / useful if you are attacked by someone who is stronger and wants to kill you? (not that that would ever be the case, I just don’t want to learn something that is completely useless like TKD)

I also don’t care about the color of the belt, I mean if I am attacked by someone now it doesn’t matter whether this piece of fabric is green or black.

I also don’t care that the techniques look cool now – they should just be useful and effective.

I would enjoy a martial art (if you call it that) where you fight against each other with very effective techniques and not posed, apply what you have learned and improve yourself on the side and with experience you have chances in a really serious fight. If possible, it would be good if you didn’t hear from the Miester all the time: “A Taekwondo fighter is best when he doesn’t have to fight” or “You become a better person through …” or other crap. It would also be good to do something where you don’t do such painful stretching exercises and contortions.

And what about Hapkido, do you fight with sticks? I mean if you did that I would go there 10 hours a day.

In your opinion, would judo or hapkido be right for me in this case? Don’t hold it against me that I talk about Taekwondo so much, but I was really disappointed with this “martial arts” – that’s nothing against people who like TKD either.
