How was the triumph of Schwartzman

The solidity of the Argentine, finalist on two occasions (2016 and 2017) in this competition, lowered a bump full of ups and downs in the first set. The 34-year-old Murray, who took three hours and 45 minutes to beat Frances Tiafoe in the first round on Tuesday, moved up 4-1.

However, Schwartzman, fourteenth player in the world, reacted. He took advantage of a slump in the scotch and signed up five consecutive games to turn the sleeve and take advantage of the match.

Later, the South American tennis player who this year won the fourth trophy of his career in Buenos Aires, broke Murray’s serve in the fifth although Scottish balanced the situation by breaking in the eighth.

The pulse lasted until the tiebreaker where Schwartzman did not fail to close the triumph, on the second attempt, after two and a quarter hours.

Murray kept the guy to the end. The Scot said goodbye at the gates of the quarterfinals, his top so far this season. A section that reached in Metz, where he fell to the Pole Hubert Hurkacz.

Schwartzman will seek the semifinals against a player from the previous phase. The winner of the clash between the American Bradon Nakashima and the Swiss Henri Laaksonen.

Previously, Roberto Bautista said goodbye to the tournament after falling against the Hungarian Marton Fucsovics (6-7 (5), 6-3 and 6-1), who took advantage of the progressive collapse of the Spanish to advance to the quarterfinals.

Bautista, the twentieth player in the world, who a year ago in the Rotterdam tournament beat the 29-year-old Hungarian, was unable to straighten out the match and stop his rival’s reaction.
