The Silk Road is already sailing towards the finish line, located at the Es Nàutic club in Sant Antoni de Portmany. The departure occurred on the dot, 11.00 am, with a wind that was not expected in the parts, since the forecast pointed to a low intensity, but the 12 knots of the 110º has led to a spectacular departure, although divided into several groups.

After the first bars and still in the ‘Manel Casanova’ regatta area, the fleet has been grouping together and with the majority opting for an outside board, at the height of El Saler beach. From then on, the big ones in the fleet, larger boats, have been taking the lead positions, while the smaller ones have remained somewhat more separated from each other.

At the end of the press release and after more than 8 hours of navigation, the fleet is at the equator of the route, it should be remembered that from the RCN of Valencia and the Es Nàutic there are 80 nautical miles of travel. At the moment the benicarlando Dee Dee, a Malbec 410 BQ by Francisco M. Carvajal, is leading the fleet, sailing at a speed of 5.9 knots. They are followed quite closely by the Formidable Tai and the Pirada, the first developing a speed of 4.7 and the second 5.5. Behind them Rusafi, Nereu, Spinnaker, Aldebaran Uno and Taula.
