The island of San Andrés is the headquarters of the Colombian Professional Basketball League, which this time has the participation of 11 teams from the country, which will seek to end the hegemony of Titanes de Barranquilla that in recent years has been a broad dominator of this sport in Colombia.
The games in their entirety will be played at the Genny Bay Coliseum in San Andrés with the presence of the public, with a limited capacity of 1,000 spectators per game on the sports stage.
“The archipelago of San Andrés achieved herd immunity, where more than 80 percent of the population is vaccinated, in addition to low rates of infected. On this occasion, the participating athletes will not be in a bubble and will stay in different hotels in the department ”, indicates a statement from the Colombian Basketball Federation.
The 11 teams participating in this edition of the tournament are: Titanes de Barranquilla, Motilones de Norte de Santander, Cafeteros de Armenia, Tigrillos de Antioquia, Piratas de Bogotá, Caribbean Storm de San Andrés, Cóndores de Cundinamarca, Corsairs of Cartagena, Sabios de Manizales , Búcaros de Bucaramanga, Cimarrones del Chocó and Team Cali.
