Cuautla will represent Morelos in the National U 13 for men’s basketball – El Sol de Cuernavaca

Morelos already has its representative in the next U13 Men’s National Basketball Championship to be held in the state of Jalisco, from October 28 to 31.

Within the tie organized by the Mexican Basketball Association of Morelos in the José María Morelos y Pavón de Cuautla Sports Unit, the representative team of the Cuautla Interscholastic Sports League (LDIC), was the winner to obtain the pass to the fair that will take place in the capital Guadalajara.

In the defining match, the Cuautlense squad defeated its similar from Tiburones de Las Fuentes de Cuernavaca by a wide score of 36 points to 16.

The game started cold, with two teams scoring few points late in the first quarter. The sharks took the lead at the end of the first 10 minutes of play with a timid lead on the scoreboard from 6 points to 4, thanks to two triples, the first scored by Jesús Castro, followed by Aarón Rosas.

For the second period, the Cuautlense squad came out more aggressive and successful under the hoop to turn the scoreboard and begin their takeoff towards victory with a 10-point shot by only three from Sharks thanks to another shot from a distance that reflected Rosas again on the board to reach the break with a 14-9 in favor of those who wore black.

In the last two quarters, based on a good defense, the LDIC team only allowed 7 points from their rival, and in response they scored 22 to seal the victory.

In total, Sharks made four triples, three of them signed by Rosas.

The best scorers in the Cuautlense squad were Diego Pérez with 12 points, Dilan Cortés with 8 and Ezequiel Contreras with 6; the only three-point score was made by Abdiel Rayón who scored five points in total, and the count was completed by Brandon Castelán with 3 points and Ángel García with 2 in his private account.

The president of ADEMEBA Morelos, Manuel Montenegro Almanza, reported that the winners of this tie will go to the national team representing Morelos, which will be held in the pearl of Guadalajara next week, with his counterpart from ADEMEBA Jalisco being the host.
