Charlie Morton went under the knife

Star Charlie Morton, who suffered a fractured right fibula during the first game of the World Series, underwent a successful operation on Friday.

The team is confident that he is ready for spring training.

Morton was injured Tuesday when he was hit by a Yuli Gurriel line at 102.4 mph. He stayed in the game for one more inning, but ended up with difficulty walking.
