After hoisting the championship banner and handing over the championship rings, the Bucks were only 2-0 down at the beginning of the game on Tuesday evening (local time) – and otherwise dominated the title candidate and opponents from the Eastern Conference. “I think we did a great job and managed to concentrate on the plan and on ourselves,” said Giannis Antetokounmpo, who impressed immediately with 32 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists, with a view to the emotional ceremony in the sold out Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.

For the time being, the Nets will not have Kyrie Irving, who has not been vaccinated against the corona virus, and therefore only had two of their three top players on the field. Kevin Durant also made a good game with 32 points and eleven rebounds, the 20 points, eight rebounds and eight assists from James Harden were not a bad result – but against the team-based Bucks that was enough to start the 75th season of the NBA -History not.

In a duel between two potential title candidates from the Western Conference, the Golden State Warriors won an away win at the Los Angeles Lakers. In the first joint NBA game of the new star trio LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook, the Lakers lost 114: 121 – although James got 34 and Davis got 33 points and each collected eleven rebounds.

Steph Curry booked a triple double in the Warriors win at the start of the season. “It’s a good feeling,” he said in an interview on US television about the victory, but also said after the performance with 21 points, ten rebounds and ten assists: “I played crap.” According to the TV station TNT, he last managed a triple double in 2016.
