Shock moment and worries about Sergio Agüero (33)!
During FC Barcelona’s game against Deportivo Alaves (1-1), the Argentine went down towards the end of the first half, grabbed his chest and complained of breathing problems. Paramedics immediately rushed to give Aguero medical attention. Teammates and opponents also worried about him.
The ex-Manchester City striker was eventually able to leave the pitch himself but was rushed to hospital by ambulance for further examination.
Barça’s interim coach Sergi Barjuán (49), who took over the Catalans after Ronald Koeman (58) was sacked, told La Liga TV: “He told me he was a little dizzy. I have now learned that they took him to the hospital to see what he really had. I do not know more.”
Barcelona later confirmed: “Agüero reported chest problems and was taken to hospital for a cardiological examination.” Spanish reports said Agüero also had palpitations, but fortunately the striker is “fine”.
The incident awakens memories of the European Championships in the summer. Denmark star Christian Eriksen (29) collapsed there in the first group game against Finland in Copenhagen, suffered a cardiac arrest and had to be resuscitated on the pitch. Barça star Agüero was always conscious.

Agüero contracted the corona virus in January and missed seven games for his then-club Manchester City. In May last year, he said that “most players are scared” of the prospect of returning to football too early.
Aguero said: “Most players are scared because they have children and families. I’m scared, but I’m here with my girlfriend and I won’t have any contact with other people. I’m locked in my house and the only person I could infect is my girlfriend. “
