Bidasoa Irun wins in Nava with a great second half

Second parts can be good, even excellent, like the one signed yesterday by Bidasoa Irun on the pitch of the Vivero Herol Nava, resolving a locked match. From 13-11 the break went to the final 25-31 and the Irundarras sleep second at the expense of the revelation team of the league start, which had won its first three home games.

Cuétara’s team had only one advantage in the first half, 1-2 with late goals from Renaud and Azkue, the first in minute 4. Afterwards they were always in tow, except in draws at two and five. The Irundarras started with a 5-1 defense and used it in practically the entire first half, first with Kauldi and then with García. It was a good argument, which weighed down the navero attack, but not enough.

The commented 1-2 was followed by a 3-0 partial and the last of those goals, and fourth from the local account, was the first in play, since before he had scored against (two) and from the penalty point. With 6-5 he stopped a seven-meter Sierra and the score was moving in lower figures than those that many games are showing lately. But Nava is improving this season and also its attack, the second best in the league until yesterday, except for Barça. The passage through the changing rooms changed the scenery and the fate of the game. In three minutes Bidasoa was already ahead (14-15) and in eleven he had three rental goals (15-18), four at a quarter of an hour (17-21).

Sierra and Salinas, bright

Two of the biggest architects of the comeback were Sierra and Salinas. The Huelva player stopped six balls in the first ten minutes (including a penalty) and went to twelve stops in the second half and sixteen in total, including three penalties.

And the Chilean gave another master class on goals and passes. In the 1-5 quarter with which he started the second half, he scored a goal, gave three assists, added a new decisive pass that Tesoriere did not take advantage of and even participated in the 14-16 even if it was with failure in the launch, whose rejection Kauldi took advantage. He finished the game with five goals and as many assists.

In a quarter of an hour round, Bidasoa Irun established a partial 4-10 for a 17-21 and put the game on track. Of those ten goals, nine came from players who had not scored in the first half, Kauldi (three), Ugarte (three), Dariel (one), Zabala (one) and Rodríguez (one).

One cannot relax in Nava de la Asunción even if the game is on the right track and Bidasoa Irun did not make that mistake. In the first half it had cost him to get one more gear but he was already working at full capacity and he managed to widen the difference to seven goals on 22-29, enjoying a more placid end of the game than expected, both a priori and seeing the development he had had in the first half.

More duels in the upper zone

Yesterday’s match measured those who were third and sixth in the standings and the other teams that are between second and ninth place are cited in direct confrontations on the eighth day: Today Logroño-Cuenca (5th and 7th) and Anaitasuna- Genil Bridge (8th and 2nd) and tomorrow Ademar-Granollers (9th and 4th).
