BC Stramproy 2 – BV Whole 1 : 5-3. Opening match competition 2021-2022.

BV Heel 1 has the honors to open the 2021-2022 competition season with an away game against Stramproy. The hall was entered for the official kick-off early on Sunday morning around 10:00 am. BC Stramproy is traditionally a difficult match for BV Heel, so every point you take home there is a profit point.

As the home team, BC Stramproy may determine which matches are started, and the mix doubles are the opening matches. At BV Heel 1, Sanne plays a fixed mix with Patrick and Ellen with Maurice. First mentioned had trouble with the speed of the shuttle. They also had some malheur because Sanne went through the ankle while receiving a high serve. The game was played out, but unfortunately the duo from Heel could not get a point from it.

From 2from mix ran a lot better for BV Heel. With solid play, the game was pulled to Heelse side without too much drama. After the mix doubles 1-1 score.

The next matches are the men’s and women’s doubles. Just to stay with the gentlemen, Patrick and Maurice didn’t have too much trouble in their match. Where the length of the shuttle in the mix was sometimes underestimated by Patrick, this was twice as important in the men. Solid play by the men resulted in a victory.

Women’s doubles is one of the more difficult disciplines, and the ladies from Heel had a hard time. Sanne, who continued with a sore ankle, but on adrenaline, had the necessary trouble with Ellen to join the Stramproys duo. Unfortunately for Heel, Stramproy had the upper hand in this match. Tied after the doubles: 2-2 and all chances are still in the single.

The ladies started with the singles, both Sanne and Ellen had to acknowledge their superiority in the opponents, so that 2 points were won in favor of Stramproy, but Heel still has the men as trump card.

Maurice did exactly what can normally be expected of him, namely playing a solid single which he also won in 2 sets, and so takes another point to Heel.

Patrick may then try to tie the game in a true squatter. With a fanatical start, the first set was quickly in, but in the 2from set, the king of Stramproy showed a lot more resistance, with the result that a decisive 3from set was needed to decide the game. Both gentlemen went up against each other and extra time was needed to come to a winner, which fell just on the wrong side for Patrick.

Final result 5-3 win for BC Stramproy with the conclusion that everyone is very excited to be able to play badminton again after the corona vicissitudes. They were sports competitions. Although there may have been more in store for BV Heel, this result was manageable. On to the return in Heel later this season to rectify this. The next match is immediately the clash between BV Heel 1 and BV Heel 2
