Batņa joins Finland’s top league last minute “Jukurit”

Mikeli (Finland), Oct. 18, LETA. Latvian hockey team striker Oskars Batņa has joined the Finnish top league team Mikeli “Jukurit”, the club informs.

A contract with the 26-year-old center striker has been signed until the end of this season.

Batnis started his second season this autumn in the French top league team Angletas “Hormadi”. This season he has scored one goal in six battles and made four assists.

Last season, Batnis scored nine goals and made nine assists in 22 games in the French Premier League.

Before that, Batņa represented the Dinamo team of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) for three seasons. In the first two KHL seasons, the striker was forced to play some games in the Latvian championship, but in his last KHL season he was a full-fledged “dynamite”.

2019/2021. In the KHL season, the center player scored one goal in 51 games and scored three times. In total, he has been on the ice in 122 games for KHL, in which he scored four goals and scored ten times.

In 2019, the striker made his debut as a member of the Latvian national team in the world championship, but did not score in seven duels. He competed in this year’s championship in three matches against Canada.

“Jukurit” with 11 points in 13 matches takes the last place in the competition of 15 teams. This unit was also represented by Latvian striker Mārtiņš Dzierkals.
