Basketball blitz tournament begins with 68 teams

Chihuahua.- The 3×3 Lightning Tournament started on the basketball courts of Parque Revolución, organized by the Municipal Institute of Physical Culture and Sports.

It was a little after 9:00 am this Saturday, when the director of the institute, Juan Abdo Fierro, gave the initial flag.

The talented local children and youth competed for the top three places on the table.

After the call, a total of 68 teams were entered in the unique category of children from 8 to 17 years of age. The games were held under the national regulations of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 3×3.

The players from the city’s sports units and clubs enjoyed the program implemented by Mayor Marco Bonilla, which was a campaign promise for his first 100 days in office.

“Very happy with the call … giving and reactivating the sports units that we need so much after a pandemic of almost two years, well, we have a full house,” he commented.

He added that next year sporting events and shows in the city will grow, once the budget and action plan have been planned, as one of the mayor’s priorities is the promotion of sport.
