Baseball Mlb: Houston eliminates Boston and returns to the World Series

The Astros dominate game-6 of the American League final beating the Red Sox 5-0. Alvarez voted mvp of the series. Now await the winner of Braves-Dodgers

For the third time in 5 years the Astros are at the World Series. Winning game-6 at Minute Maid Park with an unappealable 5-0 over the Red Sox, Houston ended the American League final 4-2, having found themselves down 1-2. In the last 3 matches, the Texan pitchers have conceded only 3 meager points in Boston, whose powerful attack was blocked at the most beautiful, after the two grand slams in the first two innings of game-3, won 12-3. In 2017 the Astros became champions thanks to a 4-3 over the Dodgers, while in 2019 they were defeated, always beautifully, by the Nationals.

Now the Astros await the winner of the National final, with Atlanta leading 3-2 over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Game 6 is played tonight in Georgia.

race-6

There was no story in the match that decided the series. On the mountain the freshman Luis Garcia conceded only one valid in 5.2 innings, before giving way to the bullpen, which held rivals with only Kike Hernandez’s triple in the seventh. The victory points came from a double by Yordan Alvarez to the first on the starter Nate Eovaldi (4.1 shots, 5 hits, 1 point), and from a 3 home run by Kyle Tucker in the 8th on Adam Ottavino (the same Tucker had took home the 2-0 while incurring a double game in the 6th). Alvarez was voted mvp of the series thanks to his 12 valid in 6 races, franchise record. In the last two he has scored 7, two more than the entire Sox team. Houston was able to score 45 points with two outs. The Sox closed a season, however, well beyond expectations. Nobody even gave them to the playoffs in the preseason predictions. Houston manager Dusty Baker returns to the World Series after bringing the San Francisco Giants there in 2002. This time he hopes to finish with better luck: 19 years ago he was defeated by the Angels.
