On Thursday, the last games in the Riga Football Championship and Women’s Football League were played by three Pieriga teams. Babīte sports club footballers closed the tournament with a devastating victory in honor of the Riga champion, but Olaine and Ķekava footballers – with losses.
Babīte footballers hosted “Tente / Beitar” on their field in Pinki and scored two goals in the first half of the first half. At the end of the first half, the opponents regained one goal, and this seemed to anger the owners of the field so much that the ball hit the visitors’ goal twice more, but after the break another six – 10: 1.
Alexei Kucenko scored four goals, three – the most successful player of the tournament (18) Daniel Richard Geidan, Timur Abramenko, Ephraim Currency Datil and Vladimir Shevchenko occasionally scored.
In the final table of the Riga Championship, the Babīte Sports Club team scored 49 points in 18 games (16 wins and one draw and one loss each) and was seven points ahead of the closest follower football club “Jūrnieks”. With the title of champion, Babīte footballers have gained the right to participate in the final tournament of the Latvian third league, but due to the epidemiological situation, it is not yet certain whether this will happen.
The fourth place was taken by Salaspils sports club “Kengaroos” (p. 35) and the fifth – by Garkalne parish sports club “Upesciems” (p. 29). The final positions of two Ādaži teams will be determined after the game “Riga United” – “ASK Kadaga”. Before that, the football school “Rakari” has 13 points, “Riga United” 12 points and two remaining games, but “ASK Kadaga” 10 points and one remaining game.
The season has not been so successful in the Women’s Football League for the footballers of the football club “Olaine” and Ķekava club “Auda”. “Auda” on Thursday in the last 15th round game with 0: 6 in Ķekava gave up the sports club “Super Nova” / RTU footballers and with four points (1 victory, 1 draw and 13 losses) remained in the last sixth place.
FK “Olaine” finished one position higher, which closes the season at home with a loss of 1: 3 against Liepāja Football School on Thursday. Viktorija Vengreviča scored the honorable goal 17 minutes before the end. 11 points in 15 games for the olives – 3 wins, 2 draws and 10 losses.
It has already been reported that the Latvian Football Federation has decided to suspend and not continue the Evelatus Youth Football Championship, the Women’s Football 1st League and the Latvian Open Veterans Championship from October 15. This means that without completing the last three tournament games, the last two places (11th and 12th) in the Women’s 1st League tournament table are taken by the Babīte Sports Club team (3 points) and the football club “Sigulda” (0 points).
