At 40, Jürgen Melzer is preparing to retire by the end of the year. He will perform for the last time in front of his home crowd in Vienna this week. In his hometown, he has already won two singles tournaments and one in doubles, in 2014. To win one last time at home, he chose a great partner: Alexander Zverev.
«At one point he texted me and said, “I like playing with you. This is your last tournament in Austria, in Vienna, in your country, I will give everything so that we win the tournament here ”. I think that would be a nice goodbye, so I said yes », said Melzer.
Zverev plays the saviors, he will have to assume.
