Atp Race classification, Jannik Sinner chasing Ruud and Hurkacz. Third round in Indian Wells, all screenings – OA Sport

Jannik Sinner continues to chase qualification for the ATP Finals. The Italian tennis player occupies the tenth place in the Race which is giving away eight places for the final acts of the season in Turin. The South Tyrolean defeated the Australian John Millmann in the second round of the Indian Wells Masters 1000 and now awaits the winner of Isner-Nishioka in the third round, in view of a possible challenge with Matteo Berrettini in the round of 16.

The 20-year-old has 2,550 points to his credit and is in pursuit of the Polish Hubert Hurkacz (2820) and the Norwegian Casper Ruud (2970), both already in the third round on US hard courts, while the Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime is behind him (2330, he has yet to play his second round).

Our standard bearer would rise to 2595 points qualifying for the round of 16, while the points would become 2685 in case of access to the quarter-finals. It would be essential to go as far as possible to have concrete opportunities to access the ATP Finals, reaching the semifinal would ensure the landing at 2865 points, while reaching the final would be worth 3105 and the triumph in the tournament would bring him to 3505 points. Clearly Jannik Sinner should also be hoping for a bad tournament from Ruud and Hurkacz, in order to bring them closer and play it all in the next tournaments.
