Atlanta wins away win at the start | Further

BASEBALL ⋅ The Atlanta Braves win the first game of the World Series. The winner of the National League prevailed 6-2 against the Houston Astros at the start of the MLB final series.

After just three innings, the guests from the US state of Georgia were 5-0 ahead, with Jorge Soler being only the fifth player in history to score a home run in his first appearance on the record in the first inning. Unfortunately, Atlanta’s pitcher Charlie Morton was hit by a ball in the second inning and broke his fibula.

The Braves have won the World Series three times so far, most recently in 1995, the Astros once in 2017. The second game of the Best-of-7 series will again take place in Houston on Thursday night. (sda)
