It’s a video that’s only forty-one seconds long but has gone viral on social media for two days. We can see everything that amateur rugby can sometimes have that is stupid.
After nearly 10 months without playing, Bizanos and Gan, two clubs from Pyrénées-Atlantiques, met for the first day of Federal 3. But from the first seconds of the match, everything degenerated. On kick-off, a player from Gan is about to retrieve the ball which finally goes directly into touch. This does not, however, prevent a violent tackle without a ball from the winger of Bizanos on his opponent. Clearly a completely disproportionate act of anti-gambling at this point in the game. And who smacks of “old-fashioned” bullying or revenge on a previous game.
Two red cards
In a few seconds, the spirits are heated in front of this aggression. And in front of the spectators dumbfounded by this uncontrolled surge of testosterone, the lawn turns into a boxing ring. The general brawl does not amuse anyone, and especially not the amateur videographer who just wanted to film the start of a rugby match after a long absence and who finds himself recording a festival of shots.
The fight ultimately ended with two red cards, one on each side. In the final score, which we can estimate moral in view of the first stupid gesture of the winger of Bizanos, it was Gan who won over Bizanos 13-10.
