It wasn’t easy, but the New York Jets finally got their first victory in 2021. The Big Apple club beat the Tennessee Titans 27-24 in overtime at MetLife Stadium.

Late by a touchdown in the fourth quarter, quarterback Zach Wilson had the best moments of his young career. The second overall pick in the last NFL Draft threw two touchdown passes, including one from 53 yards to Corey Davis.

The Titans (2-2), however, leveled the score in the dying seconds of the last quarter. Ryan Tannehill joined Cameron Batson behind the goal line.

In overtime, the Jets (1-3) took the lead in earnest with a three-point kick from Matt Ammendola. Recovering the ball with enough time to win or tie the score, the Titans attempted a 44-yard field goal. Ryan Bullock was unable to get the ball between the two rods, however.

The Giants too

At the Superdome, the New York Giants also ended their streak of failure by winning 27-21 in overtime over the New Orleans Saints.

In extra, running back Saquon Barkley gave the victory to his team by completing a 75-yard streak with a six-yard rush. It was the second touchdown by the Giants ball carrier (1-3) in this duel.

Quarterback Daniel Jones hit 400 yards and threw two touchdown passes.

For their part, the Saints (2-2) saw Taysom Hill register two majors with his legs, while Alvin Kamara had 128 yards on 26 carries.

The Chiefs bounce back

At Lincoln Financial Field, the Kansas City Chiefs took advantage of their visit to Philadelphia to end a two-game losing streak.

To do this, they defeated the Eagles (1-3) by a score of 42-30.

Patrick Mahomes was particularly dominant, he who made 24 of his 30 attempted passes and found a teammate five times in the pay zone. The Chiefs quarterback (2-2) regularly turned to receiver Tyreek Hill. The latter caught 11 stints for 186 yards and three majors.

Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire wasn’t naughty either, amassing 102 rushing yards and one touchdown through the air.

For the Eagles, linebacker Eric Wilson stood out with 10 tackles and one interception.

In short

The Detroit Lions (0-4) will have to wait another week before securing their first victory in 2021, who were beaten 24-14 by the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.

At Hard Rock Stadium, running back Jonathan Taylor amassed over 100 yards and scored a middle finger with his legs, while Carlson Wentz threw two touchdown passes in a 27-17 victory for the Colts (1-3) Indianapolis on the Miami Dolphins (1-3).

The Buffalo Bills (3-1) humiliated the Houston Texans (1-3) 40-0 at Highmark Stadium. Tight end Dawson Knox took the opportunity to register two touchdowns.

At US Bank Stadium, the Browns’ defense (3-1) did the job and the Cleveland club defeated the Minnesota Vikings 14-7.

Despite Cordarrelle Patterson’s three touchdowns, the Atlanta Falcons (1-3) lost 34-30 to the Washington football team (2-2) at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

At AT&T Stadium, the Dallas Cowboys (3-1) ended the Carolina Panthers (3-1) dream start to their season by beating them 36-28.
