A bad second half left Boca Unidos with nothing and few chances

Boca Unidos accentuated yesterday its bad present in the Federal A tournament with a painful 2 to 1 local defeat against Defensores de Pronunciamiento, a result that seriously complicates the goal of the Aurirrojo team of classifying the “reduced” for the second promotion to the First National.

The morning of Corrientes had everything in the southeast sector of the city. Rain, wind and hail less than an hour to start, forcing the game to be delayed for 30 minutes. During the match a few drops fell, but the sun also appeared on a couple of occasions, to end the match with a cloudy and threatening sky.

What was also unstable as the weather was the performance of Boca Unidos. The local, again accompanied by its public, was the dominator of the actions in the initial stage, a situation that it no longer repeated in the second half, when the rival brought out serious defensive decouples that ended up costing the defeat.

With the possession of the ball, but without offensive depth, the Aurirrojo went in search of the front goal against an organized rival from the back half of the court, who bet everything on the attack on a ball behind the Corrientes centrals.

The first approach for Boca Unidos took almost a quarter of an hour to arrive. A center by Monje that Correa rejected with a fist was left to Sánchez Paredes, who took a first-rate shot and the run that the goalkeeper ended up catching.

With constant projections from the wings, and also from Schweizer, who was released from the midfield to show himself as a discharge, the Corrientes team was pushing Defenders against the area.

A good association of Lazzaroni with Schweizer, who entered the area through the baseline, was well resolved by Correa, who guessed the pass behind the midfielder to cover the delivery.

It was all from the premises, which again on the left hurt again. This time those who met were Arriola and Schweizer, whose center-arc had to deflect the “Depro” goalkeeper to the corner kick.

The only arrival of the visit in the period was a filtered pass from Larroza to Rossi, which the “9” finished off with a blunder when he entered the area, with Martinez controlling without problems.

After a wide free kick by Ramiro and two shots from outside the area that went high, Boca Unidos reached the opening of the scoreboard. Monje played for Schweizer, who was projected down the alley of “8” and unloaded with Ríos, who sent a past cross that was cleared short by a defender, taking advantage of “Gabi” Morales, who with a left-handed volley put the ball against the left post de Correa for 1-0.

Before the first half closes, the venue had another chance. “Gabi” escaped with a dominated ball, and when Arriola came from the left asking for the pass, he tried to surprise Correa with a low shot against the left pipe that the goalkeeper saved.

With the advantage in the result and a rival who had to move a few meters forward by obligation to go in search of the tie, Boca Unidos had the possibility of liquidating the match. Ríos anticipated at the near post with a header that went over the crossbar, after a cross from Sánchez Paredes, and then the Chaco enabled “Gabi” Morales to counterattack, who eluded the goalkeeper but could not get the shot to the arch, and the subsequent center of Rosario had no consequences.

The bucket of cold water arrived unexpectedly. Mauri came out with a dominated ball from his own area with the entire home team in attack position. The defender sent a frontal ball that found Boca Unidos badly stopped in defense, since it surpassed Silva and surprised Martínez, so that Robles left the goalkeeper behind and from a closed angle scored the tie.

It was a blow from which Boca Unidos was no longer going to recover, because nerves and insecurity took over the place, which continued to make mistakes. After a corner kick from the left, the ball escaped Martinez, leaving the rebound to Gutiérrez, whose shot was miraculously returned by the crossbar.

At times the game turned back and forth, because Boca Unidos, which was “touched”, was also leading. Martínez once again shone by sending Rossi a shot from the corner, and on the counter, Gabriel Morales tested Correa, who covered the shot from the Corrientes goal scorer.

A pass to the clearing to the right of Echagüe’s attack that Rossi went to look for ended with a cross to the mouth of the goal that Robles capitalized on by anticipating Silva and goalkeeper Martínez to push the ball into the net.

It was the death certificate for Boca Unidos, which could no longer return to the game despite the desperate changes of the technical duo – they remembered late to move the bench – because the team had no emotional rest to go for a draw against a rival who it closed well behind, beyond a mid-distance shot from Gabriel Morales that Correa covered and a header from Valsangiácomo that was lost close to the left vertical.

Boca Unidos disappointed again at home, and now he is forced to win next weekend in Villa Ramallo against Defensores, do it again when he appears at home against Unión de Sunchales, and see what result he needs in the closing in Misiones against Crucero of the North to feed chances of qualification, although the worst thing is that it does not depend on itself to achieve the objective.
