92:74! Alba celebrates an important away win in Oldenburg – BZ Berlin

The look in the table of the Bundesliga goes up again! The Berliners won on Sunday evening thanks to a strong second half at the EWE Baskets Oldenburg with 92:74 (38:43).

After four games, the German champions are in the midfield of the league with an even point balance. The best throwers from Berlin were Oscar da Silva with 21 and Louis Olinde and Jaleen Smith with 18 points each.

Coach Israel Gonzalez once again had to do without the injured quartet Johannes Thiemann, Christ Koumadje, Ben Lammers and Marcus Eriksson. But Stefan Peno returned to the squad. From the beginning, an open exchange of blows developed. After a 4-2 lead, Alba initially ran after a deficit because they lacked access on the defensive a few times.

The leadership changed back and forth over the course of the game, no team was able to break away. The German champions missed too many open throws and made a few more ball losses on the offensive. Oldenburg took advantage of this and took the lead again at halftime.

After the break, things remained tight at first. But Alba now put more pressure and defended more intensely. At Oldenburg, however, the mistakes that the guests now took advantage of increased. After just under 28 minutes, Berlin’s lead was double-digit for the first time (59:48). With that the resistance was broken. Then Alba dominated the game and continued to pull away.
