2nd league: Wacker Innsbruck ends negative run

SV Licht Loidl Lafnitz kept close contact with the top with a sovereign 2-0 (2-0) at home against stragglers Mohren Dornbirn in 1913. Stefan Gölles made two goals (5th, 45th + 1) before the break for a clear situation in favor of the Styrians. SKU Ertl Glas Amstetten got the upper hand with 3-0 (2-0) at SV Horn. A double strike by Philipp Schellnegger (42nd) and Stefan Holiday (45th) meant the preliminary decision from the guests’ point of view before the change of sides. Shortly after the break (51st), Wale Musa Alli dashed all hopes of the hosts to win points.

The duel between Rapid II and Wacker Innsbruck at the Allianz Stadium in Vienna was all about Ronivaldo. The Brazilian striker was there in the 14th, 54th and 85th minutes and ensured that the Tyroleans did not lose any further ground in the battle for promotion after two defeats before the international break. The Japanese Morass, who had coached Wacker’s second team before Daniel Bierofka was replaced, was also able to look forward to a perfect debut in the form of his fifth win of the season.

Shooting festivals in Lustenau and St. Pölten

Austria Lustenau had already impressively underpinned its top position in the Admiral 2nd League on Friday. The Vorarlbergers sent Kapfenberg home with a 6-0 (5-0) package in 1919. Lustenau didn’t spend long with the guests from Styria either: after around half an hour, the victory was dry.

The outstanding man at the Austria Schützenfest in Lustenau was the Swiss Tabakovic, who with a triple pack (14./Elfer, 22., 30.) within a quarter of an hour and now 16 hits in eleven games further expanded the lone lead in the scorers list. Jean Hugonet (11th), Bryan Silva Teixeira (17th) and Brandon Baiye (64th) also used for the home side, who hold ten wins, seven of them in a row, and with a wide chest in the top game against Blau-Weiß Linz next Friday.

Even in St. Pölten, the home side were not stingy with goals. The Bundesliga relegated team showed the GAK, who had previously played a strong role, the limits with a 6-1 (3-0) win. Daniel Schütz (11th), Kresimir Kovacevic (22nd) and a “third-party contribution” from GAK man Benjamin Rosenberger (35th) meant the preliminary decision for Stephan Helm’s team. Double packer George Davies (57th, 66th / penalty) and Ulysses Llanez (70th) increased significantly after the break. The Lower Austrians scored 13 goals in their last three games. Daniel Kalajdzic, younger brother of ÖFB team striker Sasa Kalajdzic, scored the consolation goal for Graz (81st), who threaten to slip into the middle of the table.

Rescue operation stops the game

On the FAC-Platz in the Floridsdorf district of Vienna, Joao Oliveira (21st) and Flavio (64th) ensured the 2-0 (1-0) home win over the tied-up bottom Steyr. However, around 20 minutes before the end, the focus was on the rescue workers. Due to an emergency in the vicinity of the soccer field and the dense construction, the emergency doctor’s helicopter had to land in the middle of the field. After an involuntary break of around 30 minutes, the game could finally be played to the end.

In the fourth Friday game, Roko Simic (61st) and Nene Dorgeles (81st) gave FC Liefering, which claimed second place, a 2-0 win against Juniors OÖ. On Sunday (10.30 a.m.) against the Young Violets, Blau-Weiß Linz has the opportunity to get to Liefering up to one point.
