Vincent Labrune’s measures to revolutionize French professional football

In recent times, French football and Ligue 1 in particular have made people smile more than anything else. Between the TV rights fiasco with Mediapro, the heated negotiations with Canal +, the unexpected arrival of Amazon or the recent incidents in the gallery, the League has seen all the colors.

But with the massive arrival of international stars, the LFP wishes to restore its image. And undoubtedly catch up on the other Leagues. To do this, RMC Sport announces that its president, Vincent Labrune, will set up several working groups which will be dedicated to various subjects such as product valuation, arbitration, social dialogue and governance.

NAK, Rivère, Caillot and Nicollin sent to the front

A very present figure in French football and the new president of the ECA, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi is expected to head the group responsible for promoting the product. The mission of the boss of the PSG will therefore be to develop the LFP internationally and, in the medium term, to increase revenues linked to TV rights (they currently bring in € 80 million per year until 2024).

RMC Sport continues and reveals that the President of Nice Jean-Pierre Rivère will take care of the “arbitration” component. Its main mission will be to obtain from the IFAB (International Football Association Board) the authorization to broadcast the sound of the referees’ conversations live as well as the exchanges with the VAR.

Finally, Jean-Pierre Caillot (Reims) and Laurent Nicollin (Montpellier) will deal respectively with social dialogue and governance. The Rémois will notably have to study several hot files such as the extension of the duration of the first professional contract as well as the possible implementation of a salary cap and a luxury tax. In short, a whole program !
