Tottenham could sanction players Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso after incidents that happened on Sunday in the qualifying match for the Qatar 2022 World Cup between Brazil and Argentina. The duel was suspended at minute six by the health authorities of the South American country for the alleged illegal arrival of the two players of the London club and also of Emiliano Buendía and Emiliano Martínez, players of Aston Vila. These four footballers would not have complied with the mandatory quarantine to which UK passengers must undergo.

The Argentine team is already in their country to prepare for Thursday’s match against Bolivia. Those who have already left the concentration are Buendía and Martínez, released by Scaloni. But before returning to the UK, they will go through Croatia to do the 10 days – in the UK there are 14 – of necessary isolation. Yes, Lo Celso and Romero continue with the selection, but it is not yet known if they will play on Thursday and if Tottenham will finally sanction them for the incidents of the match against Brazil.
