They stole rugs from the soccer-tennis courts of three neighborhoods

An act of insecurity happened yesterday in Corrientes, where the carpets were stolen from the tennis courts installed by the Municipality in three neighborhoods of the city.

As confirmed by official sources, the robbery took place in the 17 de Agosto, Unión and Alta Gracia neighborhoods.

The event drew attention because those who stole the rugs used a means of transport and took the time to remove them from the squares where they were installed. Neighbors in the area claimed not to have seen anything when it happened.

In the 17 de Agosto neighborhood, neighbors reported that thieves took the grass aboard a white utility truck.

Mathias Cabrera, Secretary of Infrastructure of the Municipality of Corrientes, in dialogue with El Litoral reported that investigative tasks are being carried out in conjunction with the Police and that the operations are in charge of Commissioner Fernández of the metropolitan and Complex Crimes personnel to be able to find those responsible for the crime.

“There are images that the neighbors took, it is a white Peugeot Partner and two people. With the Guardia Urbana cameras we are trying to trace the patent in order to find the person in charge of the vehicle, ”said the secretary.

He added: “In case of not being able to find the carpets, the Municipality will take charge” of replacing them.

Security

Cabrera said that they will seek security for the 44 tennis courts that are in different neighborhoods of the city. “We are talking to the Police for the safety of the fields. Providing the plazas (we have more than 150 throughout the city) with pleasure is impossible due to costs and personnel. In some cases it is complex for a civilian to take care of a square because they are complicated areas ”.

On the other hand, the official indicated that it is difficult for there to be pleasures because they have received physical violence from people in the area where they were and that their protection is paramount rather than material. “We are going to try to put greater police security in the squares where each field of the city is,” he said.

care

After the question of whether the criminal acts continue in the neighborhoods, they would conclude with the tennis courts, the municipal infrastructure secretary indicated that there will be no changes.

“The public that takes care of things is much greater, the lesser public that dedicates itself to breaking and destroying things. As a Municipality our obligation is to provide the service to the neighbors and they have to have the peace of mind that we are going to restore what is necessary, “he said.
