Two touchdowns scored in less than two minutes at the start of the fourth quarter allowed the Pittsburgh Steelers to surprise the Buffalo Bills 23-16 Sunday afternoon at Highmark Stadium.

The victors’ success began when quarterback Ben Roethlisberger spotted Diontae Johnson on five yards for a touchdown that put the score 13-10 in favor of the Steelers.

The Bills picked up the ball and were forced to clear the ball deep into their zone. The kick was blocked by Pittsburgh special teams and Ulysees Gilbert III brought the precious object back to the pay zone.

Before this major streak, the Steelers had always lagged behind in this duel. They had, however, been able to secure two field goals via Chris Boswell’s leg. The kicker completed his game with a nine-point harvest.

The Bills tried to come back in the dying moments of the fourth round, but the Steelers ‘defense limited quarterback Josh Allen and the Bills’ offense to a field goal late in the game.

Speaking of the Buffalo pivot, he completed his clash with 30 successful passes in 51 attempts. He amassed 270 yards and a touchdown. He also had 44 yards with his legs and dropped the ball once.

TJ Watt, who signed a lucrative four-year, $ 112 million deal last week, did very well with two quarterback sacks. He was also the one who made Allen lose the ball.

The 49ers got hot

At Ford Field, the San Francisco 49ers held off a surprising comeback from the Detroit Lions to win 41-33.

Leading by 24 points late in the game, the California team saw the attack of their rivals register two majors and their defense create a turnaround in the last minute of play.

The 49ers defense, however, was able to end the game by putting a tremendous amount of pressure on quarterback Jared Goff. The latter played a first game in the uniform of the Lions, which had obtained it in a transaction with the Rams of Los Angeles.

The veteran completed 38 of his 57 passes for 338 yards and three majors, but was also the victim of an interception brought down for a touchdown.

Preferred to Trey Lance as a starter with the Niners, quarterback Jimmy Garropolo started the game very badly. The veteran dropped the ball in his first appearance on the pitch. “Jimmy G” however recovered and concluded his duel with 17 completed passes in 25 attempts and a touchdown.

Lance was not left out. Sent into the fray when his club was close to the pay zone, he did a five-yard throw for the major. This is the only pass he made during the day.

Wide receiver Deebo Samuel was the 49ers’ offensive star. The University of South Carolina product caught nine passes for gains of 189 yards and a touchdown.

Sam Darnold takes revenge

At Bank of America Stadium, quarterback Sam Darnold did well against his former team and the Carolina Panthers defeated the Jets 19-14.

Traded in the last offseason, Darnold had 68.6% of his throws for 279 yards and a touchdown. He also reached the pay zone with his legs.

For his part, young pivot Zach Wilson had a rough first start in the NFL. After a horrible first half, he did better in the second half of the game. The second overall pick in the last draft completed 20 of his 37 passing attempts for 258 yards and two touchdowns. He also saw one of his passes intercepted.

In short

At Lucas Oil Stadium, quarterback Russell Wilson and wide receiver Tyler Lockett showed they always have great chemistry. The two footballers joined forces for two majors and the Seattle Seahawks beat the Indianapolis Colts 28-16.

The Houston Texans ruined pivot Trevor Lawrence’s professional debut by defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars 37-21 at NGR Stadium.

At Nissan Stadium, the Cardinals’ offense was in full swing, leading the Arizona club to a 38-13 victory over the Tennessee Titans. Defensively, Chandler Jones also dazzled with five quarterback sacks for the winners.

The Philadelphia Eagles defense prevented the Atlanta Falcons from registering a single touchdown and the Pennsylvania team posted a 32-6 victory at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
