The Pistons are expected to offer Luka Garza a standard contract.

A month ago the Detroit Pistons offered Luka Garza a two-way contract that would allow him to alternate his work with the team and the G League affiliate. The pivot, an absolute institution in the recent history of the university circuit with Iowa, is one of those dominant profiles in formative stages but not as adaptable to the NBA as one might expect. His summer has been spent with this in mind, which has made him lose a few kilos and work on his mobility deficiencies. Garza endorsed it with a great performance in the Summer League in Las Vegas, where he averaged 15 points, 9.6 rebounds and a block per game that led him to the second best team in the tournament. Even then the Pistons did not hesitate to reward him with a roster position, and now they are close to improving their conditions.

According to Ian Begley, a journalist from CUT, los Pistons they plan convert the two-way deal to a standard one, with Garza becoming one of 13 fixed names on Dwayne Casey’s roster. The argument that the sources point to is how satisfied the franchise has been with the player since his election in position 52 in the last draft. Detroit already has a young core and although Cade Cunningham declares that he has the playoffs between his eyebrows, the most normal thing is that the team stays away and has nothing to lose by testing players such as Luka.
