The Lakers sign one of LeBron’s biggest victims!

A few days after Marc Gasol’s trade, the Lakers made another move, this time within the coaching staff. LeBron James has a special relationship with the newcomer, which promises to nice reunion.

After DeAndre Jordan’s confirmed reinforcement in the racket, the Lakers were actively looking for a way out for Marc Gasol. They managed to find it, since a trade started with the Grizzlies. An interesting exchange, but who is especially financial for the Angelinos. And a few weeks before the recovery, it may not be the last.

While waiting to learn more in the coming weeks, the Purple and Gold have made a new signing. This is not a player, but a coach who reinforces the staff: John Lucas III. He will come to help Frank Vogel and company, and has the advantage of knowing LeBron James.

The Lakers have hired John Lucas III for their coaching staff. Lucas leaves behind a respectable run in the NBA as a point guard, and in a career that also includes stints in the G-League, Europe and China. He joined LAL after having coached in Minnesota… And he has a history with LeBron.

Lucas started with the Rockets in 2005, and spent two NBA campaigns before leaving. He returned a few years later, before finally ending his career in 2016/17. His latest averages? 4.7 points, 1 rebound and 1.5 assist.

But as we said, he mainly has a liability with LeBron. During the days of the Bulls and the Heat, he had suffered the wrath of the King … who had passed over him in a huge dunk.

LeBron James therefore welcomes an old acquaintance within the Lakers, which should bring back good memories to him. That shouldn’t make him happy either, as the King still crosses paths with a player-turned-coach, which clearly isn’t going to make him any younger.
