The Clippers sign a new reinforcement!

As the training camp approaches, some franchises continue to cleverly hack their roster. This is the case of the Clippers, which we learned from Woj that they were adding a big man to their squad for the resumption at the end of the month.

The season promises to be interesting and challenging for the Clippers. On the one hand, we have to capitalize on the progress of last year, with once again the hope of reaching the Finals. On the other hand, it is necessary to manage at the same time to keep an honorable place in the West in spite of the long absence of Kawhi Leonard, while rejuvenating the workforce as the front office seems to wish.

From this point of view, the Californians have perhaps just done a double blow with the signing of a big man, an area where Tyronn Lue’s men are sometimes a little light. This is the native of Oregon Isaiah Hartenstein, as announced by Adrian Wojnarowski :

Free agent hub Isaiah Hartenstein has agreed to a training camp contract with the Clippers, sources tell ESPN.

The Angelinos aren’t taking any chances: if Hartenstein makes the effort, there’s a good chance he’ll be retained. If he disappoints, he will be left free without any worries. For. reminder, the big man played 3 seasons in the NBA, and has already gone through 3 franchises (Houston, Denver and Cleveland). He’s coming off his best career run for the Cavs, averaging 8.3 points and 6 rebounds in under 18 minutes on the floor – interesting numbers.

For those unfamiliar with the 23-year-old 2m13 pivot, here’s a sample of his time in Cleveland last season:

Nothing necessarily scintillating, but an interesting move from the Clippers, who could well secure a new back-up option inside. It’s up to Isaiah Hartenstein to prove himself during the training camp from now on!
