The Carabinieri find in Maser the bows stolen from the Club Archery of Montebelluna. The hunt for the perpetrators of the theft continues

The 29 arches stolen between 4 and 7 September at the Archery Club in via Castellana in Montebelluna were found during the morning of today, Friday.

The operational and mobile unit of the Montebelluna Company, employed in patrol services, identified the stolen goods, worth around 3,000 euros, in the vicinity of an abandoned cottage in the Maser countryside.

During the theft, discovered on Tuesday evening when some athletes arrived at the training facility, padlocks were also damaged and the locks were forced.

“This is a cowardly act that does not bear any fruit – commented the following day the president Loris Battilana – we will try to restore the situation in some way, for the benefit of beginners who just over a month ago completed the course and who they were practicing precisely with the bows stolen last night ”.

Fortunately, the military managed to find the stolen goods in a few days. Now the investigations are aimed at verifying whether the criminals have abandoned the stolen goods as disturbed in the action, or if they have decided to provisionally set aside the loot to recover it at a later time.

Surveys are now underway by the operating unit in order to find useful information to identify the perpetrators of the theft.

It was not the first time that the company suffered thefts: in the spring of 2017 the shooting range was in fact robbed of various equipment necessary for the maintenance of the space granted to the Club by the administration of Montebelluna. At the time, a group to which the association had provided the basic notions to start the practice of archery brought its solidarity through the supply of part of what was missing. This time, however, fortunately the loot has been found and will be returned to the Archery Club.
