Gyrano Kerk leaves FC Utrecht. Lokomotiv Moscow is officially the new club of the 25-year-old attacker, who already said goodbye to his teammates on Sunday.
Due to all the transfer troubles, Kerk did not play during the league match between FC Utrecht and Feyenoord (3-1). The wing attacker could count on concrete interest from Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt, but opts for a Russian adventure at Lokomotiv Moscow. Utrecht catches around seven million euros excluding bonuses for Kerk, who is immediately one of the most expensive players in the club.
“Gyrano has been in the interest of various foreign clubs for some time. At the end of last week, the negotiations took such a turn that an agreement was reached with Lokomotiv Moscow,” says technical director Jordy Zuidam of Utrecht on the club site. “The realization of such a transfer is important for the continuity of FC Utrecht. In that sense, this deal is satisfactory, although the departure of Gyrano is of course a loss in sporting terms. Gyrano, with his speed, agility and unpredictability, has always been someone who created danger and could make a breakthrough in a match.”
FC Utrecht coach René already has the replacement for Kerk in his house with Moussa Sylla. Mimoun Mahi, Othman Boussaid, Bart Ramselaar and Simon Gustafson can also fill the role on the right. Kerk was under contract for another two years in Stadion Galgenwaard.
