The president of the Association of Tennis Players of the State of Oaxaca (ATEO), Adolfo Martínez Barragán, announced that at the moment there are 90 tennis players registered in the different categories, so that the figure of one hundred players will surely be exceeded.

Regarding the male A, Jesús Sánchez, who has dominated it in the last two years, has already registered and will be in the fight for another attractive cash prize, since this fair will distribute a bag of 40 thousand pesos.

Andrés Jarquín Botello, Julio Castilla, Tonatiuh Chávez, Enrique Hernández, Alonso Cruz are other tennis players who have already guaranteed their participation in the men’s A, so it is expected to be a close and fierce contest, in which the former professional could also compete Aurelio Martínez.

In women, of course, a great favorite will be Gretha Rivera, who was crowned in the last Monday of the Cerro State Tournament; In addition to this, the return of Jenny Zapien stands out, who has been the protagonist of the women’s title in traditional ATEO tournaments in Bahías de Huatulco.

Sisters Karen and Marlén Sánchez also already have a guaranteed place in the women’s A contest.

The draw will take place on Monday, September 13 at 11:00 in the ATEO offices, this, after registrations close that same day at 10 in the morning. The registration cost is 300 pesos per player.

It should be remembered that the contest of the national month also calls in categories B, C, D major and D minor, in men and women, in which the awards will be in cash; as well as in the 10 years and under male and female but in the latter only trophy will only be awarded to the first and second place.

On the other hand, the ATEO reported that the 2021 Grade 3 Children and Youth Tournament that was scheduled for last August and that was suspended for different factors, mainly due to the epidemiological traffic light change, already has a date and will be held from October 15 to 17 .

This fair is part of the national children’s and youth circuit of the Mexican Tennis Federation and will convene in divisions from 10 years to 21 and under, in men’s and women’s branches, and the call with the details of the fair will be launched shortly, Martínez said Barragan.
