Tania Palacios Kuri presented awards to the men’s national basketball team

The state team received recognition from Tania Palacios Kuri for her performance by obtaining a silver medal

Local deputy Tania Palacios Kuri, a member of the Legislative Group of the National Action Party in the LIX State Legislature, presented awards to athletes from the 2003-2004 men’s basketball state team, held in Oaxtepec, Morelos, from August 23 to 29 of the current year, and where they obtained the second place with a silver medal.

Accompanied by the president of the Board of Directors, deputy Jorge Herrera Martinez, as well as legislators Verónica Hernández Flores, José González Ruiz and Santiago Alegría Salinas, the deputy expressed that they are a source of pride for Querétaro; Well, he said, in all areas, sport is a link that protects and prevents risky behavior.

He indicated that, as Nelson Mandela said, it breaks social barriers, and that it is even much more effective than governments to be able to adjust these gaps and keep us more united; “You are very lucky young people, because the other day I was reviewing numbers from the World Health Organization, and worldwide almost 80% of young people more or less your age, between adolescence and youth, do not cover enough hours established by this body to have a healthy life in terms of exercise, that is, they do not have enough exercise on a daily and weekly basis to be able to consider that they have a healthy life ”.

For this reason, he invited you to continue growing in all the senses of your life and continue leaving your soul in each competition, but above all, continue to be a reference for Querétaro; “Today governments, society in general, has to set its eyes on sport, because in addition to being a very important fuel for development, it is a prevention mechanism in many ways; is linked to public safety; it is linked to violence, with a reduction in anxiety and depression indices ”.

The legislator ended her speech with that phrase from Michael Jordan, “I have missed more than 9 thousand shots in my career; I have lost almost 300 games; 26 times I was entrusted with the opportunity to take the winning shot… and I missed. I have failed over and over again throughout my life. That is why I have been successful. “

At the time, the president of the Board of Directors, Jorge Herrera Martínez agreed that sport is something that I hope all young people could do, and that they do it with the same vehemence, desire and enthusiasm that they have done in this Olympiad, with great results.

He emphasized that everything in life can be achieved, as long as they feel like it and believe in what they do, so he told them that they should feel very proud as athletes, as Queretanos and as Mexicans, because it can be said easy, but it is required of mettle, effort, training and a great desire to get ahead.

“They are very fortunate young people today to be able to feel so proud of what they have achieved in sport, and I can tell you with complete confidence that if everything they do in life they do with the desire that they play basketball, without a doubt they will be men of good, some successful men, I congratulate them; (…) Sport, as deputy Tania Palacios already commented, is the essential part that the development of all young people requires, and above all, it separates them from temptations that unfortunately many cannot get out of ”.

For his part, the player Allan Carroll Ortega, thanked the authorities and their coaches for their support in making this experience a reality, since he indicated that most of them were rookies in this Olympiad, which united them not only as a team but also as a family; He added that since they decided to participate, they knew they were going to win; He trusted that those who can participate because they are in the 2004 category, will have the opportunity to do so again in the next national Olympiad.

The awards were given to Diego Pérez Trejo, Juan Gallegos Miranda, Carlos Roberto Olvera Mora, Marco Zárate Gonzáles, Juan Diego Abreu Sosa, Iván Mayo Guzmán, Daniel Zárate Gonzáles, Jorge Lazo Ponce, Eliab Álvarez Niño, Allan Carroll Ortega, Josué Adrián Rivera Cruz and Christian Norberto Días Serna; as well as the coaches Daniel Alfredo Avendaño Sánchez and Jorge Alberto Rincón Vázquez.
