François Boisset recalled Serge Rongier’s involvement in the town of Apchon, as deputy mayor, and his investment in sports associations where he played as a footballer, then rugby player at the ORCR and as president of the Gentiane multisport association. At the request of the association, the town agreed to name the city stadium Serge-Rongier. “Concerned about enriching the practice of sport, and in the interest of all, Serge offered new ideas at each session: warm-up exercises, new disciplines or even the organization of meetings with other multisport clubs. . In addition to playing volleyball, basketball and indoor football, he has brought badminton, handball, rugby to touch, petanque or even bike trips with the watchwords, friendliness and simplicity, to the image of Serge and of this club imbued with his values, which we will try to perpetuate, ”commented Valérie Lavialle, who now chairs Gentiane multisports.

Wisely located near the gymnasium, schools and the leisure center, this free space is dedicated to sport and leisure activities with free access for all ages and allowing the practice of all types of sports: football, tennis, basketball, badminton, volleyball and even rugby to touch.

“A place of meetings, exchanges and camaraderie, which allows the practice of several sports disciplines, the city stadium is in the image of Serge, whose commitment we wanted to honor symbolized by this plaque”, continued Valérie Lavialle.
