Schinkel’s notes for Austria against Moldova

Ahead: The win against really weak Moldovans was certainly deserved, but it didn’t spark my enthusiasm.

Franco Fuck (Note: 5)

I think our team boss is still in vacation mode. We play against a defensive opponent and find it difficult to come up with creative solutions. And then he lets a carefree, in top form acting Demir stew for 90 minutes on the bench. As a highlight, he changed in Ilsanker instead of Demir in the finish – I can’t understand that. Especially because Demir is still missing two team games so that he will play safely for Austria in the future and not for Turkey. Mr. Foda, that is insufficient.

Daniel Bachmann (Note: 3)

Our goalkeeper was hardly challenged against weak Moldovans, but always had to remain vigilant. He didn’t let himself be guilty of anything. Now and then I would have liked him to make the game a little faster with his committees.

Christopher Trimmel (Note: 3)

In my opinion, the Union captain played a sovereign but not particularly conspicuous game. He can cause more danger on the offensive with his flanks, but he was solid defensive.

Philipp Lienhart (Note: 3)

He did a solid job and didn’t let anything go. But he wasn’t really challenged on the defensive.

Martin Hinteregger (Note: 2)

For me, he was our best in the back four, was the source of ideas for the game design. He tried to kick the game up from behind. Good performance.

Andreas Ulmer (Note: 5)

Once again, the left-back was unable to bring his performances from Salzburg to the national team – disappointing performance.

Florian Grillitsch (Note: 4)

Unfortunately, that wasn’t his evening: Unfortunately, he kept slowing down the Austrian game and had no creative solutions at hand.

Konrad Laimer (Note: 3)

He made a lot of paths again, but wasn’t that dominant in the sixteenth against Moldova. He can do more, his performance was average.

Christoph Baumgartner (Note: 2)

I have also seen significantly better performances from him in the national team. But with his redeeming 1-0 he made an important contribution to the victory, otherwise he was one of our most dangerous.

Michael Gregoritsch (Grade: 5)

He didn’t prevail against the Moldovan backcountry and didn’t shoot the opposing goal once. It’s a shame, Gregoritsch didn’t use his chance.

Louis Schaub (Note: 2)

The winger was able to bring his good form from Cologne onto the pitch as a team and was one of our most noticeable. Especially in the first half he brought movement into the offensive game with his tempo dribbles.

Marko Arnautovic (Note: 4)

With his late goal to 2-0, Arnautovic just jumped the 5er off the shovel. Otherwise, he gave two good chances frivolously in first half, not broadcasting his otherwise feared danger.

Alessandro Schöpf (Note: 5)

The fact that he came on in the 60th minute passed me by. He came, saw, and was not noticed.

The Rapid striker tried hard and missed a good chance to make it 2-0. You can tell that he is still a foreign body in the national team.
